ATS rules (quick checklist)
If you follow these, you’ll avoid 90% of ATS formatting issues.
- Use standard headings: Summary, Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications.
- No tables, columns, icons, text boxes, or charts.
- Stick to one font (system fonts are best) and keep it readable (10–11pt).
- Use bullets with metrics: “Reduced processing time by 28%…”
- Save as DOCX or PDF only if ATS-friendly PDF (DOCX is safest).
- Match keywords from the job description naturally in Skills + Experience.
Google Docs workflow (1 minute)
This is the simplest way to use these templates in Docs.
- Download a Word template above.
- Open Google Drive → New → File upload → upload the .docx.
- Right-click file → Open with → Google Docs.
- Click File → Make a copy (this becomes your editable master).
- When done: File → Download → .docx (or PDF if needed).
Want a “Make a copy” link? Create a Google Drive share link to your template and replace the button URL.
(Your hub can store those links later in DB.)
Bonus: paste-ready bullet formula
Use this to write ATS-friendly bullets that get interviews.
Action verb + what you did + tool/method + outcome metric + timeframe.
Example: Automated KYC sampling using SQL, reducing review time by 32% within 6 weeks.
